The following report of the Council’s work during the year 2013/2014 was presented by the clerk:-

Councillor David Evans finished with the Council the Council would like to thank Mr Evans for all his hard work for the years he was a Councillor.

Mr Emmanuel Kincaid was elected on to the Council as  our new Councillor.

Eleven meetings of the Community Council were held during the year, and 1 meeting regarding the New Information Board, also 3 meetings regarding the Cemetery and 1 School Meeting. It was decided not to hold a Finance meeting as we had already donated to Local organizations.

There was 1 meeting regarding the Hall and Community Centre.

The Council were very sorry to hear that the Hall Committee had been turned down in their attempt to get Lottery Funding for the Hall. The Council thanked Cllr Mary Pearce for all her hard work she put in to try and get the grants available. Cllr Maria Tofani, Eirwen James, Rhodri Evans , Dafydd Lloyd- Jones, attended a meeting regarding Tregaron Swimming Pool and Library.

Representatives attended the following meetings during the year. Cllr Rhodri Evans attended A reception to mark Councillor John Adam Lewis  installation as Chairman of Ceredigion County Council. Councillor Mary Pearce reported on meetings held by the  Hall Committee and Cymdogion Cynnes, Cylch Caron and a visit to Caerwedros village hall.   Cllr Gwynne Davies has been giving us reports regarding Fuel allotments meetings, and he also attended ameeting in Tregaron regarding Windmills, Turbines in the area.  Cllr Rhodri Evans also attended a Prize Evening at Tegaron Secondary School.

The Council have been discussing the 3-16 School. And Cllr Rhodri Evans and Cllr Emmanuel Kincaid have attended several meetings regarding  the Closure of Llanddewi Brefi School.

We also had a drop in session with Welsh Water who were doing a project on phosphate removal from our rivers which was successful.

The Council also put in place an information board for the village  in the car park.

Matters are still ongoing regarding the plot of land opposite Tany bryn.

The Council have also discussed matters regarding the swimming pool at Tregaron and the closure of Library at Tregaron.

We are still discussing what to do with the Car park and how to see if we can get a by-law passed for parking information there.

Several matters have been discussed with the Highways Department but with some success. The list is getting lower slowly. Some signs for the village have arrived. Drains that need maintaining, Gritting of Pont Llanio Road, still the problem with water not draining away from the roads in several locations.  Trees need cutting back in several locations. Gogoyan road  in need of repair Also the work on the Farmers Road has now been completed. There have been several complaints gone to Ceredigion regarding potholes on the roads at different locations.

There has also been complaints regarding the logging lorries and the damage their doing to the roads.

The grass at both Cemeteries was cut twice and the hedge trimmed. The usual footpaths Vicarage, Pebyll, Bronberllan, Gilfach and the footpath by the bridge were cleared. Also the playing field was cut.

Remembrance Day Service was held as usual and a Wreath was placed by the Vice-Chairman Mary Pearce wreaths were also placed by different Groups  from the Village. Rev Stephen Morgan conducted the Service.

It was resolved to precept for £5500.00 and  Cemetery grant of £3700.30 was forthcoming from Ceredigion.

The Audit of the Council Accounts for financial year 20012/13 was completed in October.

Several applications for Financial Assistance were considered. Among the successful were these local organisations, Llanddewi Brefi  Young Farmers Club, Ysgol Llanddewi Brefi, Ysgol Feithryn, Gogerddan Hunt, Community Centre, Llanddewi Brefi Church, Ras Gwyl Dewi.

It was resolved to renew membership with One Voice Wales and it was decided that Aon Insurance offered satisfactory cover for the Council.

Consideration was given to several planning applications. There were no objections to any.

A Xmas tree was placed on the square over the Xmas period and the Fox Hounds were held on Boxing Day.

The Council Annual Xmas Dinner was held at The Drovers  Farmers.
