Minutes of the Community Council Meeting held on 13th November 2017 at the Community Centre


Councillors Rhodri Evans (Chairman), M Eirwen James (Vice-Chair) Emanuel Kincaid, John L. Griffiths, Caryl H Jones, Dafydd Lloyd-Jones, Lynet Pugh, Enfys H. Davies, Lisa Jones.

Cllr Beth Anthony apologised for her inability to attend.

2. Personal 
The Council congratulated the Y.F.C. on their Firework display and also on their success in the Ceredigion Y.F.C Eisteddfod. The Sketch and the ‘Deuawd Doniol’ have gone through to the Wales Eisteddfod next week.
The Scouts held a successful Disco in the village hall. There was a Concert in Bethesda Chapel to raise money for Ysgoldy Llanio which was a success.
The Council wished Rhodri Evans a speedy recovery after his accident.

3. Declaration of Interest
Councillor Rhodri Evans and Caryl Jones declared their interest regarding Llanddewi Brefi Y.F.C. requesting a donation.

4. Minutes
On the proposition of Councillor Dafydd Lloyd-Jones and seconded by Cllr Lisa Jones the Council authorised the Chairman to sign the minutes of Community Council meeting held on 9th October 2017.

5. Matters arising from the minutes
1. Councillor Rhodri Evans will speak to the owner of the hedge opposite Bear House and ask him to trim it back off the footpath.

6.1.1 Roads
a. Road widening Pant and Nantdderwen.
b. Work to be done on Quar Road.
c. Review parking instructions (a letter to be sent to Ceredigion that we want yellow lines by Bryncynon to be included in the traffic regulation order).


6.2 Tree and Boundary Maintenance.
a. Fencing right hand side of Pont Llanio Hill.
b. Tree on Pont Llanio Hill.

6.3 Website
a. A few up dates to do.

6.4 The Pound Garden
Nothing new.

6.5 Defibrillator
An open evening will be held soon. The Council will open a third account for the Defibrillator money.

6.6 Street Lights
Still in talks with Ceredigion re extra incurred charges for installation.

7. Financial Report

8. Correspondence.
1. A letter requesting donation from LLanddewi Brefi Y.F.C. towards the Firework display. The Council decided to give £350 00 Proposed by Cllr Dafydd Lloyd-Jones and seconded by Lisa Jones.


9. Reports

10. Matters arising from Ceredigion
We were informed that the cabinet went to scrutiny and scrutiny decided to go with the Cabinets recommendation to close Bodlondeb Home.

a. Planning
Reviewed planning for Pencefen Drysgol. No Objections.
Reviewed planning for Pant Villa has been passed.

11. Village Hall and Community Centre Trustees Committee

The school Christmas Fair will be held on 7th December 2017.

13. Cemetery
1. We have received a quote from James Memorials regarding either laying flat or re erecting the stones that are unsafe in the Cemetery.

14. Any other matter
1.It was decided that the Council would ask Mr E Biddulph to supply the Christmas tree like usual and the Council decided this year to buy new lights and the tree will go up on the Friday night the 8th December before the switching on of the lights on the 11th December.
It was also decided that all members of the Council would bring along something to go into a food hamper we will be giving to the winner of the best decorated house..
2. It was decided that the Fox Hound demonstration would be on the square on Boxing Day at 11 o clock.
